TASTING NOTES BY ROBERT PARKER
The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie possesses an extra degree of juiciness and ripeness than the regular bottling. Soft and racy through to the finish, the Pergole Vecie impresses for its seamless personality and exceptional overall balance.
Amarone Case Vecie borrows its name from the homonymous 10ha-vineyard located in Grezzana - Valpantena. It is a unique vineyard, 450mt above sea level, with a perfect south/easterly exposition. These particular pedoclimatic conditions allow the grapes to undergo a slow and constant ripening even during the hardest years. The adopted training system is the Guyot, which allows a perfect exposition of the bunches and an optimal vegetative-productive balance. The late harvesting period enables us to put the grapes to rest in a colder period of the year undergoing a slower and longer drying process. In this phase, the grapes will develop the distinctive aromas that will then characterize the wine. Amarone Case Vecie is designed to enhance the natural traits of a cold-climate vineyard, which remain unaltered thanks to the low temperature-drying process that preserves them.
