Case Vecie has always been Stefano's dream. He was the one who initiated the collaboration with Brigaldara, approaching his uncle Piero to lease this land. Together with Professor Ferrarini, they envisioned the “high vineyards”, situated at nearly 500 meters in altitude. As we've come to realize, albeit belatedly, this was one of the many insights from that group of technicians and grape growers that gained significance over the years. Only the true visionaries were able to see it coming ahead of time.
Wind and sun — just drop by the Locanda to understand why these insights matter: a cool hill avoiding the scorching heat of the plain, enjoying perfect exposure throughout the day and a late ripening influenced by the altitude, impacting both the grapes and the drying process. Such conditions produce wines like Amarone Case Vecie, which has made waves since 1999 as the top-tier cru of the company, and Valpolicella Superiore Case Vecie that once again aspires to be a glimpse into the future.
The Locanda emerges in this setting to celebrate a unique territory — 10 hectares of vineyards surrounded by expansive woods, situated above the sweltering summer heat and winter mists. It serves as a hub for countless trails, trekking and mountain biking routes, including the European E5 trail. We welcome travelers, athletes and enthusiasts who we want to provide with a space for relaxation, cultural exploration and a connection with the local landscape. Plus, the chance to stay within walls that have stood resilient against the passage of time, much like the historic vines overseeing the courtyard.
